Instagram’s Twitter competitor, Threads, is available now

- GavinAnderegg 3y agoEDIT: I was able to get in at ~19:25 ET. I'm assuming this was published as an embargo dropped. There was a countdown at https://www.threads.net https://www.threads.net which ended at 19:00 ET. That said, it doesn't seem to be live just yet, at least for me in Canada. The website is showing a 3D depiction of the logo and I see a "Coming soon" note on the App Store.
- warunsl 3y agoI was able to get in by doing these. Not sure if these are necessary: - Go to instagram app on the App Store. Scroll down to the section where it says other apps from the same developer. There, next to the Threads app, I had the download button. After installing the app I still was not able to open it. - Once I had the app installed, I clicked through (on twitter) on someone's threads.net link and that kicked off the initial setup of the Threads app for me.
- GavinAnderegg 3y agoI eventually got a notification from the App Store. I'm not sure if it was just a bit late, or if it's being rolled out over time.

- jacooper 3y agoHmm, still can't see threads account on mastodon though....
- elashri 3y agoThey say that it will add fediverse support in future version of threads.
- redox99 3y agoThe web/desktop version seems to be basically read only. Can't reply, sign up or anything. Can't even view a full user profile I think?. No home page either for me. https://www.threads.net/@hbo https://www.threads.net/@hbo
