Will GPT models choke on their own exhaust?
- ftxbro 3y agoNo this is silly they will reach superhuman cognitive capabilities and it will become a positive feedback not a negative one. But until they do it, so many people will say it's impossible. On the other hand they may literally choke on their own exhaust like heat and greenhouse gases turning earth into venus and every ocean and metal vaporizes and everyone dies even ones that tried to burrow into the earth and even grandchildren of billionaires.
- zarzavat 3y agoModels currently have well enough data, orders of magnitude more than humans get. When’s the last time you read the entirety of Wikipedia cover to cover? The models are just currently too dumb to make use of it properly. It should be possible to train a more intelligent (if less knowledgeable) neural network with a fraction of current training dataset. The reason that they use so much data is because it’s easy gains.
