Being taller (for a man) gives you a bigger selection of possible mates. (I'm not complaining. I'm short, but have had a very satisfying love life.)
Many studies have shown that height and income are the most potent aphrodisiacs.
- borissk 3y agoHmmm, is that actually true? In my experience being in good shape is a lot more important for most women. A guy with a 6 pack doesn't need to be 6.5 feet or a millionaire to have a lot of success.
- rcarr 3y agoIt’s absolutely true. If you’re 5ft 10 or under, buy a pair of elevator shoes and go on a night out, and watch the amount of extra attention you get from women. It is so much easier to pull it’s just depressing. It’s hard to believe just how much of a difference it makes until you’ve done it.

- defrost 3y agoThere are women that are attracted to climbing mountains, there are many women that are more interested in other attributes and are more than happy with men their height or only slightly taller. There's a good chance the difference you're describing experiencing comes mostly from your own internalised perceived confidence from feeling taller and feeling a difference in body image. If you can seize onto that feeling and change in outlook and use that w/out the lifts in shoes you might find it's less to do with the markings on a door frame and more to do with attitude.
- rcarr 3y agoI’m well aware that not all women are the same but we’re talking in generalities here and there is a reason why the “don’t swipe right unless you’ve over 6ft” thing is a tinder trope. > There's a good chance the difference you're describing experiencing comes mostly from your own internalised perceived confidence from feeling taller and feeling a difference in body image. I’m sorry but no. If anything, I was less confident, because nights out in Northern England can result in violence at any moment if you’re not careful and I was now tottering around in 5 inch heels which is a significant handicap if you find yourself in a pickle. The simple fact of the matter is that I had far more girls coming up to me and initiating conversations and making eye contact than I ever did without the shoes. And that was consistent over several nights. I stopped wearing them because it felt sleazy to essentially be engaging in deception and ultimately dissatisfying whenever I pulled a woman while wearing them - were they with me because they actually liked me or because I was now meeting some bullshit requirement? Would they actually consider dating me or would I be ruled out the moment I showed up in converse? So I went back to not wearing them and subsequently got far less attention and had to work far harder to get anywhere. Sorry if this does not line up with your optimistic view of life and dating but that is the reality.
- defrost 3y agoIt doesn't line up with my decades of actual real life experience at all, but I can see that this is clearly your peceived reality, sure.
- rcarr 3y agoI ran this experiment when I was in my early twenties and I’m now in my thirties mate, so don’t try playing the “decades of real life experience” card. If you want to run the experiment yourself and come back to me with your findings then I’m all ears. Until then, how about you stop trying to play armchair psychologist with internet strangers?
- maybeitis 3y ago> there is a reason why the “don’t swipe right unless you’ve over 6ft” thing is a tinder trope Seems like an obvious way to demoralize single men, make them feel worthless, depressed, unproductive. Which is to say if I were running a psy-op campaign against the West, I’d definitely be using that tactic.
