I expected C/C++ for systems but not Lua--what's the story there? Be quite the spiffy job if you all figured out how to write kernel code in Lua :)

- thrtythreeforty 3y agoGot your attention did I? Heh - a decent amount of our "glue code" is in Lua because it is much more flexible to use than calling the underlying drivers directly in C++. Lua binds to C/C++ extremely easily. I am pushing for more teams to adopt it because the productivity benefits are immediate. No kernel code actually, it's all userland on system management side. The Nitro architecture means SoC admin is performed totally out of band.
