Are data-oriented-programming and data-oriented-design the same thing?
- DeathArrow 3y agoI have the book you mentioned and read half of it. The terms can be used interchangeably, but here, Data Oriented Programming means giving up encapsulation by separating data from methods that act on it. Every app has input and output and you think about how data flows and construct your app from there. That helps with keeping everything readable, easy to reason and change and helps with performance.
