Motorola Labs had a similar-ish internal programming language around this time. It also died because devs didn’t want to use an internally-developed language. The important things were hiring, training, support, external tools, etc. Being a “good” language was at the bottom of the list. They went with C++. Even though I worked on that PL I knew they were right not to bet a giant business on a bunch of researchers.
