Met Joe Armstrong 7 years ago during his time at SICS (now RISE). Rest in peace, Joe! Definitely, the guy who became my role model in programming.

I didn't know him personally, but I loved how he came across to me as both a cantankerous 'old' man AND an infectiously 'young' enthusiast in his talks.

I had the pleasure of escorting him around Chicago one day, and his enthusiasm was in full force. Such an amazing fellow, hearing the news of his death was a cruel blow.

Do you remember anything of what you talked about?
