This is an article by NHK by a Japanese reporter and likely a spin of a similar story for a Japanese audience. In Japanese culture, being able to bath is up there with being able to eat.
- resolutebat 3y agoThis. Also, Akita is in the north and it gets cold there in winter. Insulation in Japanese houses was and remains terrible, so taking hot baths is one of the few ways to make the persistent, omnipresent cold tolerable.
