Where's the evidence that glyphosate is carcinogenic?
- climatologist 3y agoIt's known to cause chronic inflammation which is a precursor for cancer along with being an endocrine disruptor: https://www.verywellhealth.com/does-glyphosate-cause-cancer-5113991 https://www.verywellhealth.com/does-glyphosate-cause-cancer-...
- EA-3167 3y agoThat site appears to exclusively cite its own articles as "evidence" and nothing else. What a joke! If I wanted to know what a freelance writer and a "wellness" site thought about something, I'd get myself checked.
- climatologist 3y agoExtremely weird reaction. Synthetic chemicals are known to disrupt biological function in lab animals so I don't know why you are confused about an obvious conclusion, if it affects rats and rabbits then it also affects humans in similar ways. This is why mice and rats are used as model animals for drug testing, their endocrine functions and metabolic pathways are close enough to humans to be good test subjects.
- EA-3167 3y agoNo offense, but unless you can prove that, it's just your opinion. The link you provided is about as far from proof as you can get.
- climatologist 3y agoIt kills lab animals in small does and that's plenty of evidence for me. You don't have to be convinced but the evidence is very clear for me. Rates of cancers and dementia have been steadily increasing since the introduction of synthetic chemicals so the causal link is pretty obvious.

- randycupertino 3y agoIt's debated. https://www.bmj.com/content/365/bmj.l1613 https://www.bmj.com/content/365/bmj.l1613 Mainly Monsanto lobbied enough that it wasn't classified as a carcinogen by the FDA however it has been labeled as a carcinogen by the WHO. > In 2015, the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) identified glyphosate, the world’s most commonly used herbicide, as a probable human carcinogen.12 It quickly became evident that separating science from politics and economic interests would be difficult for glyphosate. > IARC’s assessment prompted a major controversy between health evaluation agencies, led to unprecedented lobbying by Monsanto (the primary manufacturer of glyphosate and genetically modified products resistant to glyphosate), and resulted in high profile court cases in the US.3 > Glyphosate typifies the problems associated with research, evaluation, and regulation of pesticides. These include serious difficulties in the conduct of human research; important gaps in post-market research into exposure and risk assessment, particularly in low and middle income countries; lack of information on environmental effects; extensive industry involvement in evaluation and regulatory processes; and the major legal implications of these evaluations. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2021/feb/16/revealed-monsanto-mexico-us-glyphosate-ban https://www.theguardian.com/business/2021/feb/16/revealed-mo... https://enveurope.springeropen.com/articles/10.1186/s12302-018-0184-7 https://enveurope.springeropen.com/articles/10.1186/s12302-0...
