- davidhay 3y agoCool! I like the books feature.
- bencevans 3y agoThanks! Same; I've been coming to HN for books to read for years and finally got them in one place. I plan to extend the functionality there in the future :D
- tudorw 3y agovery neat, slick graphing, and useful to boot :)
- mo_solah111 3y agoLove the responsive ui on mobile and how quick it is!
- tudorw 3y agoif only every site was this responsive, we have 5g etc, but design seems to have bloated to the degree many experiences are less fluid than 10 years ago...
- yodon 3y agoGreat site. Minor nit - the book "The Dictator's Handbook" is listed twice in the books section.
- bencevans 3y agoThanks for the heads up! Fixed
- SushiHippie 3y agoThanks, love it! One thing that is missing (for me) is to select the duration for the graph. And another thing I found, that reddit[0] has an absolutely weird 100% spike. You maybe want to look into this. [0] https://hntrends.net/words/reddit https://hntrends.net/words/reddit
- bencevans 3y agoThanks for the suggestion, yes a good idea! Aha, yes, I've spotted that with Reddit, and it is actually true as appose to a bug, as there's something like just one post back in 2016, and it mentions, thus, 100% popularity. I'll add some other metrics to the page soon.
- SushiHippie 3y agoAlso couldn't find on your page where you source the "top books" from. These are just affiliate links (completely okay with it) and don't show statistics why this is a top book.
- bencevans 3y agoIt's a static list ordered by the number of mentions of all time. I plan to make this dynamic in the future and allow ordering by total score and filtering by time range. Also, I'd like to add separate pages for each book showing the stats and reviews, and maybe some form of sentiment analysis would be cool.
- rkwz 3y agoLooks great! Just checking, do you use stop words (removing “the”, “an” etc)? Can also add “its”.
- bencevans 3y agoCheers! Yes, I already have 'it's' and 'it’s', but that one escaped! Added now.
