Why did they "have" to raise money and expand? Maybe this was sarcasm and I missed it in which case ignore.
- ilyt 3y agoCoz owners wanted more money
- InvisibleUp 3y agoImgur is backed by venture capital. A stable, sustainable business isn’t enough; they have to make gobs of cash to repay their investors.
- hsjqllzlfkf 3y agoI understand the need to expand given that you have investors. I was asking why they needed to get investors if they were profitable.
- z500 3y agoSure, it is now, but why did it have to be? I don't remember them hurting for many or anything before the VC money came in, but nobody ever accused me of being too astute.

- luuurker 3y agoYes, it's a sarcastic "have".
- hsjqllzlfkf 3y agoGot it. I would've written it like: They were profitable but then they haaaaad to go and raise money. :-)
