- mPReDiToR 3y agoIs this reminding anyone else of running code directly on hardware (tapes on C64) or later CONFIG.SYS/AUTOEXEC.BAT with just a memory manager that loaded DOS4GW games? The overhead of a whole OS (especially one which takes up 1.5GB of RAM) has always seemed wasteful and unnecessary to me since the days Intel used to fill a 720MB floppy with assembly to produce results games authors couldn't replicate on CD's full of their code.
