I don't need more choice, I need there to be no tracking.
- TheJoeMan 3y agoI was using chrome at work and safari at home, and seeing this in settings on chrome a few weeks ago pushed me to just install Firefox at work. Works great, not regrets. The font on HN is a little different though.

- danpalmer 3y agoThe privacy sandbox does severely limit tracking too. Essentially any tracking done within the sandbox is not possible to be on an individual basis because the API surface is too constrained. Still “tracking”, but tracking a generalised abstract version of someone that looks a bit like you, rather than you specifically. At least that’s my rough understanding. I’m fairly privacy conscious and don’t have a particular problem with the privacy sandbox, I think it’ll significantly increase the privacy of most users.
- jeremyjacob 3y agoWouldn’t this make it much easier for advertisers to fingerprint browsers by providing extra data points to narrow down clients?
- supermatt 3y agoShhhh! lets all just go along until they switch off 3rd party cookies, then we can switch off this abomination without "breaking" the web.
