I get it: the US strategy of dominating in the air means their normal ground troops should never be facing an enemy air offensive at all, which makes Stinger-type missiles largely useless to them.
- _8j50 3y agoI think that depends in the enemy amd battlefield. Combating China from Taiwan for example, I doubt US Navy can take out all Chinese fighters.
- dragontamer 3y agoChina can't even reliably see the F22, and probably can't lock their missiles onto an F35. How are they supposed to fight against invisible air-superiority fighters (F22) and nearly-invisible multi-role Fighters? (F35) ? ---------- The worry with China is their missile forces, not their air force. The Chinese missiles have a chance at wrecking the USA's Aircraft Carriers.
- _8j50 3y agoAir-to-air combat yeah but I was talking about Chinese bombers/fighters targeting land targets in Taiwan and heading back home safely to mainland China before Taiwan/US jets intercept them in time. They have a lot of capable jets and US has good short range missile defense tech.
