The Republicans don't want to have an actual debate, who are you trying to fool? It will be a complete rehash of every GOP-only debate we've had in the past 20ish years - morons trying to outflank eachother to the right, idiots proclaiming that they'll abolish the Departments of Energy, Education, Health, etc. Everyone will try to present themselves as the furthest to the right. They'll all shriek about Biden this and Biden that and ignore the fact that most of them represent states that have no economy, while bashing states that actually do have economies. Throw in a bit of religious bigotry, a few dogwhistles to the MAGA / White Nationalist crowd, and BOOM, you've got a modern GOP "debate". There is no room for sensible, nuanced, serious adult conversations about the future of the planet and the role the US plays in it from a security and economic perspective. And at the end, they'll all capitulate and say that their platform is whatever Donald Trump wants it to be.
