This is the first time I’ve seen an article done as a poorly drawn comic strip.
Basically:
1. Jewelers at a trade show undervalued their wares to reduce shipping costs.
2. Items were stolen in transit.
3. Security company doing the transit is willing to pay the amount that was declared by the jewelers.
4. Jewelers want closer to fair market value even though they disclosed a number 10x less.
5. Article was done as a graphic novel and would have taken 5 seconds to read instead of 5 minutes of scrolling.
- sleepytimetea 3y agoThank you for saving me from yet another overdone webpage.
- appleflaxen 3y agoThank you. That is the stupidest article I've ever seen.
- labster 3y ago> She said, "Dad, don't worry, I'm gonna have a lemonade stand." What an amazing panel of news.
- marginalia_nu 3y agoSeems in line with modern long form journalism.
- bcraven 3y agoI enjoyed it, it was entertaining. If you only want the facts then I'm sure Wikipedia could service you.
- gumby 3y agoThank you. This comic format is almost as bad as a video.
- roxgib 3y agoI should really start reading the HN comments before opening the article, it would save a lot of time
