They do a better job arguing about the threat of corporations than AIs. I agree there is a "race to the bottom" with news feeds, but that would happen regardless of any use of AI. Even manual curation would work. The companies that successfully addict consumers will presumably outcompete their peers in the marketplace. People worried about the addictive nature of television previously, and if you look at the hours watched, it was a valid concern.
