Poop, from various animals, was a common medicinal ingredient for ancient Egyptian healers.
It carried through Greek and Roman healing practices and was common in medieval European healing, as well.

- Tagbert 3y agoThey were desperate for something that would heal illness and very limited in their means to do so. Controlled experimentation had not been invented, yet. This is a problem with many traditional medicines. It is the tradition that matters and less so the results.
