Ordering a pizza is more transparent than applying to a job
- MattGaiser 3y ago> Yet, we're kind of okay with not hearing back from a company. I am perfectly fine with that. I keep applying until I actually have a job, so telling me that I did not get a job doesn't do much for me other than clutter my inbox. The people who think they are being respectful by trying to schedule a time to talk with me to tell me that I did not get a job are really just wasting my time. I gain nothing from that interaction at all and had to allocate a block of time to it.
- holistio 3y agoThat's our point as well: public stage labels helps with keeping things transparent. You don't want to do a cringe meeting. You don't want a corporate email. You just want one bit of information. Especially when it's a job you really want, not when it's one of the 200 you applied to - I've done that before.
- bell-cot 3y ago> You open your delivery app of choice, spend 5 minutes and $20 maybe ordering a pizza... Reaction: Five minutes futzing with the stupid app? I guess I'll stick with my "always call 'em" rule for ordering pizza. Bonus - if they're too shorthanded to make my pie in a reasonable time, then it's pretty likely that either they're too shorthanded to answer the phone, or the person who picks up will be honest about their order backlog.
- holistio 3y agoI just assumed not everybody always orders the same pizza from the same place, like I do. Truffles and parmigiano reggiano.
