Just about everything has eyes, because anything without eyes died. There may be a way of looking at the world humans haven't thought of. maybe it's something structural in the kinds of concepts we can actually represent. We know limits about formal systems and that some things can't be built using those formal systems. Not to be all doomer about it, but that's the awesome thing about evolution. Some times the roll of the dice pays off big. We're searching because we don't have a good model of the problem space. If we knew what was out there, we wouldn't be searching.
