I have D code I wrote back in 2008 that still works fine today.
That said, there are often small breakages scattered around and it can be annoying. If it is your own code, you spend the 5-10 minutes to update it (with some exceptions, the last couple months have been particularly bad, most aren't like that though). But if it is someone else's code and you have to wait for them to update it then push a new version tag, and cascade through the dependency list, that can suck.
of course dependencies suck so you get what you pay for lol
