It's considered economic treason to hire illegal immigrants. After all, if you hire some illegal laborer instead of your out-of-work neighbor just to save a few dollars, don't be surprised if that same neighbor resorts to more and more desperate measures to feed their family. Those desperate measures could include robbing you...and the community will at large be quite sympathetic towards your neighbor, so don't expect any societal goodwill going forward. Save me the nonsense that prices will increase if labor costs go up - the corporations have ample profits and can afford to eat a few percentage points to survive in the long term.
