Linda Yaccarino’s vision for Twitter 2.0 emerges
- mindcrime 3y agoI wish Linda Yaccarino the best of luck. Not because I have any doubt about her overall ability, competence, intellect, etc. but rather because I suspect she's been placed in an untenable situation. Being "CEO" but having Elon in a position to still make arbitrary decisions which could easily undermine her efforts, is... suboptimal.
- 3cats-in-a-coat 3y agoFrankly, she's getting precisely what she bargained for. And her ideas as seen in FT are predictably out of place for Twitter. These people deserve each other and the results they'll achieve. For the record, Twitter is still losing a massive amount of money at the moment. Between 2-3 billion a year. A gap like this won't be closed with an increase in intrusive video ads.
- Zigurd 3y agoIf she is smart, the next time Elon says something that causes a major advertiser to pull out, she will say "promises were broken, I'm out" and be an EIR at a major VC firm and get a rea CEO job and not some glass cliff bullshine.
- 3cats-in-a-coat 3y agoThat is an interesting take, but it'd require her to surprise Elon and quit before she can fire her. Because to him perception is very important, he's like a politician.
- 3cats-in-a-coat 3y ago* I mean "he can fire her"
