I've heard Costco makes their profits from membership fees. The retail operation just aims to cover costs. So I can see why they would try to prevent multiple people from using one membership account.
- Sunspark 3y agoIt's not customer-friendly. It doesn't take into account families or even people who go in as a group and 1 person makes the purchase. Gift cards also exist and can be given to anyone, though they can't be reloaded online, only in person even if you are a member. Membership cards without a photo exist, I understand they plan to start requiring people to show photo id for those as well.
