Proton Pass launched – Protecting your passwords and online identity
- mikece 3y agoThe whole point of using separate providers for things like email, web hosting, domain registration, etc is that you don't put all of your eggs in one basket. I'm sure Proton has come up with something secure but I see going all-in-for-everything on Proton as being an anti-pattern.
- protonmail 3y agoHi! This is exactly why we made it possible to create a Proton Pass account with any email address, not just with an existing Proton Mail account.
- mdaniel 3y ago> Finally, in keeping with our long track record of transparency, Proton Pass is open source so anyone can review and verify our security architecture They sure do enjoy writing that sentence without including any hyperlinks. This (https://github.com/ProtonMail/WebClients/tree/main/applications/pass-extension https://github.com/ProtonMail/WebClients/tree/main/applicati...) appears to be the browser extension and https://github.com/ProtonMail/WebClients/tree/main/packages/pass https://github.com/ProtonMail/WebClients/tree/main/packages/... looks like the backend that's referenced in the extension's readme, but that pass directory's readme is zero bytes so (shrug)
