this is absolutely not something a union should be taking a stance on. fear of a union getting bloated and losing focus on improving working conditions and pay is one of the biggest reasons tech workers i talk to aren't too jazzed about unions in the first place. we don't even have one and already it's supposed to be opposed to some totally irrelevant legislation. i can see why people are hesitant to unionize
