IMO UK has so much potential in being economically and technologically relevant. It is english speaking, got top universities, healthcare is decent when compared to the US (not saying it is without problems), capital abundant, birth rate among the heathiest in europe (12, after sweden and france 12.1, norway 12.2, iceland, iceland 13.6, ireland 13.8, and greenland 14.3) [1].
