Very impressive. We fail to appreciate today that Sears used to be the Amazon of their time
- tastyfreeze 3y agoSlower turn around but just as convenient. Sears dominated mail order for 100 years.
- h2odragon 3y agoThe amazing thing is how hard Sears worked not to be the Sears of our time, leaving the field open for Amazon to eat their legacy.

- octokatt 3y agoN=1; an MBA friend of mine worked for Sears on their website offering. He nearly ripped out his own hair, since instead of being a web commerce department they were "online catalog", and the culture matched. Instead of adapting to the medium, they tried to force the medium to their offering, suffered when web-first companies showed up, and then decided the internet was a fad.
