I'm trying to find a reference for it, but I vaguely remember a large subdivision around the Toronto Area being built using modular components. The interesting part was the prefabricated components were being built onsite, in a large metal building. I guess you can get an assembly line concept going, work at nights, in poor weather, etc, to really crank out a bunch of homes in a short period of time...
