- arcticbull 3y agoThis is a narrative grafted on after the fact. When Eberhard and Tarpenning founded Tesla - years before Elon was involved - it was founded as a car company.

In February 2004, via a $6.5 million investment, Elon Musk became the company's largest shareholder. He became CEO in 2008.
