I didn’t think it could be easily removed (yes - I appreciate the audience here) - and if removed, it is so ingrained into the OS I expect the problems it’ll cause would be incredibly frustrating…
- pierat 3y agoMicrosoft's cramware is always "inexorably integrated at the deepest of levels", all the way back to Windows95 when they shoveled IE in OSR2 And it's always a 100% complete lie, and abusing their monopoly position.
- recursive 3y agoIt's not a lie that mshtml.dll was the IE (trident) renderer. And it's not a lie that it was a dependency for a number of OS features.
