Yeah this made me wistful. I’d fly back to DC now for a few hours in the bar at the Hyatt. The lady there knew how to pour a measure of Scotch. There’s something about appreciating a space for what it just is that you recognise as you get older. Not for appreciating the trendy, or the popular, but just for noticing a place, the characters, the shape. A good hotel bar has that in spades.
