I wonder if your idea of what going to a bar is has been coloured by TV, movies etc. It doesn’t have to be glamorous. Most bars do not have a dress code. I don’t usually dress differently to go for a beer than I do when I am working. Interesting perspective, but I think it’s a little conceited to claim you haven’t missed out on anything because you have deeper conversations with people during the day. I do agree that it’s an awful drug with terrible health consequences. Living the healthiest life possible as often as possible is not necessarily the best way to live, in my opinion. Of course best is subjective.
