Solar Power Bails Out Texas Grid During Major Heat Wave
- mydriasis 3y agoConfidence inspiring at least. I hope we can keep making progress in this direction. Subsidies might help. For me. Fork over the cash!
- egberts1 3y agoExcuse the pessimism. My residential solar panel notes: Still need to park some $24,000 of your own money in order to start reaping solar credits (at year-ends, not available in some states). Then have sufficient roof /ground space to ensure that number of solar panel exceeds your wattage consumption rate: Keyed to power/surface ratio of solar panel (waiting game) Incremental rollout or segmented installation is not readily made available for lower-class or skeptical folks; a missed key accelerant of increasing adoption rate. Then most neglect to ensure that your solar credit offsets the bideccinial cost of roof replacement. Many older homes often requires new electrical panels added to the side, or often a new panel (easy $14,000+ USD). It is still strictly an upper-middle-class endeavor.
