Management is fighting an uphill battle to convince workers to do the frivolous unpaid labour of commuting at their own expense while simultaneously cutting real wages.
I don’t see how they can win in the long term.
- pjmlp 3y agoEasy, when and where there is no shortage of labour. I bet Indian offshoring companies have no issues, given the competition to even have a job to start with. It is on regions where workers have the upper hand, unions and good work laws, that management is fighting.
- dabbz 3y agoWhen I was required to go back into the office, I told my manager I would begin my work day with my commute. Work day starts at 9am? That's when my hour long commute starts. So I wasn't able to take any meetings until 10am. Same with leaving work. Commute home takes 1.5 hours and day ends at 5? I'm leaving at 3:30 and can't take any meetings. My manager was fine with it since he also despised the RTO requirements. Felt like the little bit of power where I had control.
