It could be that parenting isn’t as much of a factor as growing up poor.
- oblio 3y agoOh, parenting is absolutely a factor and this can be observed in underdeveloped or developing countries. Kids in families with good parenting, a focus on education, etc are the ones that make it out.
- esarbe 3y agoIt seems that poverty is much more of a factor than good parenting. In rich countries, most of the kids "make it out", not just the ones with good parenting.
- ripvanwinkle 3y agoPoverty is certainly a factor but its another factor. There are kids who have the basics covered and then some but don't get the emotional support they need and that impacts them over their adult life. every factor we mitigate helps
