I’ve seen a shift in deer management in my state over the past decade or so. Archery season has been extended, the number of anterless tags increased, and this year, any resident that wants one can have one - no more lottery. I am no expert, but I assumed it to be in response to their population. I only ever harvest one as that is plenty of venison for me, but the population could certainly sustain more.
