Can you explain what you think the author is confused about? They seem to have a pretty good understanding of how readily available the technology is.
- throwaway22032 3y agoThat they focus so heavily on distribution of the images e.g. "premade" deepfakes. The issue is that it is becoming so trivial to generate imagery that no distribution is necessary, unless we consider powerful image generation tools to be akin to munitions of some sort and ban those too.
