- ravenstine 3y agoThey may also be less likely to believe they're "overqualified" for jobs outside the narrow domain of a college degree or that they shouldn't ever not be working because "I have a masters degree, dammit!"
- RollAHardSix 3y agoSo much this. I could drop my cybersecurity SME position and go back into warehouse management at the drop of a hat. It's the passion for the cybersecurity field that makes me want to make this a career. However, if the wrong employer pressed too much..it's just a great feeling knowing you have multiple career options whether its by choice or sudden economic downturn.
- toomuchtodo 3y agoStruggle you can’t overcome is unnecessary suffering. Better to just meet your basic needs and reduce your expectations to optimize for happiness. - otoburb 3y agoThe "Great Resignation" label implies that such men are not working at all. But I'm not sure whether such economists have thought about whether the informal economy[1] is growing in proportion to the number of men who have "dropped" out of the (formal) employment numbers.
