I started with Colemak 4 years ago on an Ergodox EZ because of RSI, and switched to Halmak on a Moonlander keyboard since then. Never would want to go back.
But, to highlight some downsides:
You need a custom config for most programs and games! My vim config is full of remappings. And I spend a lot of time in the setup menus of games before actually plaing.
