Simple answer: It's abstractions all the way down.
With an old machine, you can feel the "slowness" doing a similar test with something coded in assembly vs compiled.
The reality is, to be fast, do less.
- jayd16 3y agoAbstraction is maybe the incidental reason start up is slow but the real reason is because no one cares. You don't toggle apps open and closed so an initial wait to load up more features just isn't a priority.
