I don't know if it's AOSP, Pixel, or WhatsApp but even after resetting notification settings... Android just starts classifying WA Conversations as silent (despite the settings being very obviously configured to make them priority/”noisy” notifications). This is causing me serious problems - I basically have to manually check my phone every 15 minutes and manually swipe down on the notification tray to make sure it hasn't just marked conversations as silent again. It's clearly some kind of bug. In the notifications setting it says "conversation with X (silent)" and then the second you click on it, Android says "priority, custom ringtone, and vibrate". Infuriating, critical busted functionality. And with the way Google treats android support, I basically have zero hope of it being fixed any time soon.
