I am a big fan of Simone de Beauvoir, so - with my still limited knowledge of French - I attempted (and succeeded) to read "La vieillesse" in original. Well worth the time spent with an open dictionary on the side :) I found it - indeed - as an extraordinary book, also for the times it was written, aside from being sourced by this brilliant author. For those willing to learn a little more about de Beauvoir, I highly recommend a recent podcast, in very easily consumable French: https://www.radiofrance.fr/franceinter/podcasts/simone-de-beauvoir-itineraire-d-une-jeune-fille-rangee https://www.radiofrance.fr/franceinter/podcasts/simone-de-be...
