EU 'enforcer' visits Meta and Twitter to check readiness on online content rules
- raxxorraxor 3y agoI don't think a not elected commissioner should decide what EU citizens are allowed to read or see and hope the platforms engage in malicious compliance if they have to do anything. > CEO of AI chipmaker Nvidia This smells like political corruption in the making with shady backroom deals. What does the commissioner want to do here exactly? Probably do business with high profile enterprises against the rest of the population. I see no other plausible scenario. > I am the enforcer. I represent the law, which represents the will of the state and the people Highly questionable. > The far-reaching DSA contains many other provisions, including requiring platforms to appoint a representative in the EU who would be responsible for content matters. Again, to induce political corruption.
- sylware 3y agoThis is not enough: the "enforcer" has to "enforce" interoperability with noscript/basic (x)html browsers. Big tech must interop with small tech.
