AI generated itinerary for Cancun Mexico
- lisasays 3y agoStart your day with a delicious Mexican breakfast at La Fuente and then head to the stunning Playa Delfines for some sun, sand, and sea - 2 hours. As these spots are 10km apart -- this itinerary definitely is not doable in 2 hours (in any meaningful, enjoyable sense). Can we just bury the current so-called AI in a giant hole now, and forget about it for another 10 years, please?
- onounoko 3y agoThanks for pointing that out. I added a little warning to the screen about inaccuracies. This feature (AI) is just a small part of the app but I think it can still be useful to generate ideas for a trip.
- lisasays 3y agoI just tried 2 more of the suggested itineraries and they were both flat-out not-doable time-wise. The third suggested breakfast somewhere plus the Whale Sharks Tour in 5 hours total. Nevermind how far these might be from each other -- the tour itself takes 8 hours. In other words -- that's 3 for 3, all total crap itineraries in real terms. Yeah, the individual items might be good for some people -- but that's what Lonely Planet and Rick Steve's are for. Seriously, why bother to build this thing? "Because AI"? I'm not asking this to be cynical, or to put down a passion project. I just seriously don't get what's supposed to be useful about this. Unless they've never heard of an old-fashioned travel guide. Or they think, "ooh, an AI travel planner, I bet that must be really neat."
