Show HN: I made a ‘no bullshit’ platform for professional communities
"On my way to this job interview, I was right on time when this homeless guy asked for my help.
The job interview was for this company I had dreamt of joining for years. But I had to help, so I did, and I was late to the job interview.
You won't believe what comes next: when I arrived at the job interview, the homeless guy was actually the manager interviewing me.
And I got the job. Stay true to yourself. Peace."
This is what LinkedIn has become. It looks like if you want to stand out and passively get opportunities, you need to regularly post that kind of bullsh*t content.
What if there was a simple alternative? That's what we tried to do with Profile.studio: a place where anyone can create a private professional network, gather people in it, and search for the right person when there is a need.
Test it out and tell me what you think!

- mtmail 3y agoI can't see a company address, contact person or email address in the terms-of-service. Deep in the documents I see data is stored in Sweden and legal jurisdiction is Paris. Could you link to your Linkedin profile maybe
- yousss 3y agoEven better. Here’s my profile.studio profile : https://profile.studio/profiles/88081d65-4d79-4b5d-99dc-b442ddcb40b6 https://profile.studio/profiles/88081d65-4d79-4b5d-99dc-b442... You’ll find a link to my LinkedIn profile there among all the other stuff. The company is not quite incorporated, that’s why all these infos are missing yet.

- KomoD 3y agoIt took 1.75s for your api to return 7kb of data, incredibly slow and not "no bullshit" if I have to sign up with linkedin :/
- midzer 3y agoMaybe the server is on dial-up?
- quickthrower2 3y agoProbably getting hugged by the HNDDOS
- yousss 3y agoWhy would a "sign up with Linkedin" make Profile.studio bullshit? It's the whole "become thought leader to stand out" that makes it bullshit. And Profile.studio is not replicating that. To me, a lot of people just want to find the right person or be found in a more targeted way for projects. And that's not what Linkedin is really offering, or offering cheaply. But their Sign in feature and profile data can help Profile.studio users earn some time. So why not?
- 1970-01-01 3y ago>Welcome. >Please sign in to continue. >Continue with Linkedin bullshit detected. test halted.
- yousss 3y agoWhy did your bullshit-o-meter detected bullshit with the "Continue with Linkedin"? Using linkedin for log in doesn't mean that we replicate what makes it bullshit these days. Don't you think?
