This year's summer event is on Sunday is July 2nd. Named after Ernst Alexanderson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_Alexanderson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernst_Alexanderson The station was built to include Sweden in the RCA transatlantic communication system. I suspect it was a bit redundant by the time it got built as they worked out that short waves worked better than long waves for wireless propagation.
