Isn't the little death the middle ages term for orgasm?
- somedude895 3y agoIt used to describe fainting and only in modern times has been changed to mean orgasm. > La petite mort (French pronunciation: [la p(ə)tit mɔʁ]; "the little death") is an expression that means "the brief loss or weakening of consciousness" and in modern usage refers specifically to "the sensation of post orgasm as likened to death." > The first attested use of the expression in English was in 1572 with the meaning of "fainting fit." It later came to mean "nervous spasm" as well. The first attested use with the meaning of "orgasm" was in 1882. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_petite_mort https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_petite_mort
- dmead 3y agointeresting. in the film the last duel they use this when interrogating the woman who is being fought over. i thought it was an effort to be period correct.
- Pamar 3y agoIn the sense of "orgasm" it's more like 19th Century: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_petite_mort https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_petite_mort
