I’d wager it’s going to take a lot to get to the point where a huge portion of customers aren’t satisfied with LCD TVs at their current level of capability, especially if prices are only going down.
- leptons 3y agoAgree. There's still plenty of people alive with 4k TVs today that remember when black and white broadcast CRT television was all there was.
- rsynnott 3y agoSure, but that’s not what this is about. This is essentially manufacturers saying “we’re going to stop trying to make LCDs better and concentrate on other technologies”.
- emodendroket 3y agoWell, according to the article they intend to continue making LCD TVs and you can expect them to get cheaper, so I expect them to have a long life as tried-and-true choices even if they're not being actively researched for improvement.
