What Languages Dominate the Internet?
- garbagecoder 3y agoUnless you have serious concerns about a Tower-of-Babel-like incident, having a "lingua franca" (what a recursively ironic term), I think, can bring people together. Did it have to be English? No. Will it always be English? I doubt it. But this is more or less what they use it for in India, the most populous nation on the planet too now. China is behind its Great Firewall. So here we are. Anyway, since I opened this link wrongfully thinking it was about programming languages, I will just say, while I like English's all purpose ability and apparent ability to run on all "hardware" like Java, sometimes I think a more phonetically typed language would improve developer learning curves.
